His real name is Raymond Jusczak, but he signs his works ‘GLUZAC’. Originally from the Hauts-de-France region, born in Anicy-le-Château in the Aisne department, he graduated from the Laon School of Fine Arts. A self-taught painter, he could have pursued a career as a professional cyclist, but his love of painting won out.
Based in Montpellier, he exhibited throughout the Midi-Pyrénées region.
Then the light and colours of the Alpilles attracted him and he moved permanently to Fontvieille, not far from Alphonse Daudet's famous windmill.
His highly eclectic work ranges from landscapes of the Alpilles depicting Provençal cabins, fields of olive trees, lavender and poppies. The small fishing ports of the Mediterranean coast inspire him deeply. His hyper-realistic still lifes feature bouquets of flowers in a thousand colours. He also produced series on the famous Venice Carnival and its beautiful Venetian masks. His work on bullfighting and the beautiful Arlésiennes is also surprising in its movement and vitality.
A fan of large formats, which he particularly likes, he has mastered the use of space.
He has had numerous solo exhibitions in Arles and Fontvieille, as well as group exhibitions abroad, in Venice and San Remo, Italy, where he won the Grand Prix. Internationally recognised, he has won several gold medals, the latest of which was at the Sebora Salon in San Remo, Italy.
His work is officially listed.
Exhibitions followed in Paris, Geneva, Venice, San Remo and New York.
His work has been added to prestigious private collections, including those of Countess Arianne Zographos de la Rochefoucauld in Sant Antonio (Haute-Corse), Madame Vincente BRUN, and the walls of the Town Hall of Palavas les Flots.
