Aléos, Buried Memories.
Aléos' universe is constantly evolving. The artist, imbued with what he experiences and feels, transmits it almost unconsciously onto the canvas. In his latest works, the eye is first drawn to the very contemporary style of the large canvases, where reds, greys and blacks clash, blues blend with warm colours, the brushstrokes appear energetic, the paintings follow one another in depth, the work is considerable and yet everything is harmonious. Then the eye settles on the dense content: the world is movement. the artist conveys the evolution of time, which seems to be accelerating, the mind alert. The usual presences of Aléos' world are invisible, yet they are felt, imperceptible, they seem to say to us: ‘Take care of yourselves, your life is so important, take care of our world, stay tuned, look...’
The painting is light, intuitive, suggestive, vibrant with energy, the composition is elegant and yet uncompromising. Aléos gives no title or information, preferring to leave everyone's imagination free to express their personal sensibilities, offering a wide range of interpretations and real freedom. An alchemy takes place between the work and the viewer, who absorbs its essence, projects their buried memories onto the canvas and makes it their own.
There is no despair in Aléos' painting, no worldly ambition, just an inner quest that suggests taking the paths that open up. The style evolves, cultures jostle for position, demonstrating the non-dogmatic nature of the work. The notion of time does not exist, like these hieratic characters with the appearance of Magisters who agree to appear in certain paintings. Always benevolent, they seem to have come from a distant past or the far reaches of the universe, like emissaries bearing witness to other immemorial times, other abysses, other boundless spaces. Are they archetypes of humanity or do they come from an unknown future? Perhaps they are only there to make us understand that every atom, every particle of life that makes us up, is important, forms a whole, and that this whole forms the world. Through empathy, they invite us to follow the original path that tends to liberate our latent, long-suppressed emotions, to shake up our assumptions in order to see beyond them.
The enigmatic meaning of the writings is interpreted in a very personal way by each individual. They always act as gentle vibrations, like the Vedas, as keys to philosophical knowledge. They are the work of the cosmos from which everything was born; they tell the story of the world. The enigmatic meaning of the writings is interpreted in a very personal way by each individual. In some works, the iconographic aspect is accentuated by the perfect mastery of gold leaf and the transparency of successive glazes. Thanks to the technique used, these tones give the whole a dreamlike and precious atmosphere. The light that emanates intrinsically from the characters transfigures them, transcending them into spiritual ideals, thus establishing an intimate connection between them and the viewer, encouraging meditation and, at times, pointing to an intimate path towards resilience.
A self-taught, independent artist, he maintains a humble attitude, seeking neither titles nor distinctions. With its aesthetic density and mystical dimension, in a contemporary style bordering on abstraction, the work is harmonious, transcendent and timeless.
Aléos does not prepare his work; he prepares himself. He does not prejudge what his painting will be; he paints intuitively. In this way, evolution is constant, the palette is enriched, the style is more abstract, the gesture sometimes instinctive in bursts of vibration, force and momentum, without rigour. The field of exploration continues to expand: an expanding universe? Flashes of matter? Waves of energy released onto the canvas?
Our memory retains this light, this secret emotion felt, this energy transmitted, this inner journey that allows us to forget our sensory limitations, takes us to other worlds, and, in symbiosis with them, tames their secrets.
A universe which, depending on our personal resonances and our state of mind, fosters a connection with the infinitely large, the infinitely small, and the imperceptible.
